FRAGILE is the title of Tilted Production’s new cross artform work. Created by Maresa von Stockert, Tilted Productions’ Artistic Director, will combine contemporary dance and circus bringing together contemporary dancers (Beth Powlesland; Stephanie McMann), tightwire artists (Lucas Bergandi; Jean Charles Gaume), an acro-balance trampoline duo (Laura Smith; Mark Pieklo) and a dancing clown (David Vossen). Following the company’s success with SEASAW, this new work will also be initially created for the outdoors.
FRAGILE will look at human vulnerability in a world of social, political and environmental instability. It will search for the beautiful in the fragile & the fragile in the seemingly beautiful. It will expose the fragility of human relationships as well as the frail relationship between humans and nature.
In addition to Tilted Productions’ support from Arts Council, England, this project is commissioned by PASS – Circus Channel , an European network between UK and France, with La Brèche, Pôle National des Arts du Cirque de Base-Normandie (Cherbourg – Octeville) and SeaChange Arts (Great Yarmouth) acting as co-producers together with Atelier 231 and Viva Cité (Sotteville-les-Rouen) and Crying Out Loud (London).
The creation of FRAGILE begins in January and the production will be touring in 2013 in the UK and Europe from May through to September.
