Tilted Productions strives to enable people of all ages and abilities to take part in stimulating creative activity to explore their own creative voices.
For the outdoor promenade production BELONGING(s), which toured nationally and internationally 2015-17, community participation was an integral part of the process and live performances. Over 400 local participants were involved in the production across its tour. A wide range of groups performed pop-up performance vignettes in the piece alongside the professional cast. These groups included dance groups for the over 60’s, young people with special educational needs, school children, a Tamil community group and various open call groups. We also engaged with groups who contributed to the piece in other ways: knitting and craft groups created props used in the shows and the research & development was inspired by workshops in care homes, schools and universities.
